should obtain a regulated personal licence holders qualification

A personal licence allows the holder to sell or authorise the sale of alcohol. A personal licence is also needed to apply to become a designated premises supervisor (DPS). Licensed premises can have more than one personal licence holder

Course Content

The course consist of ONE units. The contents are outlined below:

• understanding the application process for a personal licence
• your legal duties as a personal licence holder
• the roles, responsibilities and functions of licensing authorities
• the licensing objectives and why they’re so important
• how the nature and strength of alcohol can affect your customers
• the law relating to protecting children on a licensed premises
• the powers held by the police and other authorities

Assessment

The examination for this qualification contains 40 questions that must be completed within one
hour. Successful learners will have to demonstrate knowledge and understanding across the qualification syllabus and achieve a minimum pass mark of 70%. .

Entry Requirements

• learners must be aged 18 and over.
• learners must have sufficient reading, writing, speaking and listening language skills before being put forward for training and assessment.
• It is advised that learners have a minimum of Level 1 in Literacy or numeracy or equivalent.
