COVID-19 Preparing for the Return

COVID-19 Preparing for the Return

As thoughts move to the return to the workplace for many, at The ExcluSec Group we are preparing to support our customer’s activities. There will be many changes to the way that we work, designed to help everyone keep safe, and almost as importantly, to ensure that they feel safe.

Here are some changes that you may want to consider.

Enhanced Cleaning Regime

COVID-19 is a novel coronavirus, which is highly contagious and is transmitted when infected people cough or sneeze.

The virus particles can be transferred between people in the air, but are also known to survive on surfaces for up to 72 hours, where they can be transferred onto numerous people’s hands. Hand and surface disinfection is therefore an important part of restart planning.

With many buildings having been closed since mid-March we recommend a risk assessment of building use in the lockdown period is carried out, to guide pre-restart cleaning in preparation for re-occupancy. Where there any concerns, we recommend that a deep clean is carried out using an appropriate disinfectant, certainly to high touch point and high traffic areas.

On re-occupancy, we recommend an enhanced cleaning regime with regular daily office cleaning, specifically focusing on high touch point areas such as hand rails, door handles, lift buttons, light switches, shared IT equipment and washrooms.

We suggest also that Hand Sanitiser stations are placed at key locations, including entrances and exits, and that these are regularly refilled as demand is likely to be high.

Lock and Unlock Services

Most businesses do not operate on a 24 hour basis, so someone needs to open the building first thing in the morning and lock it back up at the end of the working day.

ExcluSec Security are able to provide this service, to reduce the need for an employee to have contact with keys, locks and doors, as well as ensuring that your business is always safe.

Temperature Screening

Organisations with a large number of visitors or employees may need to utilise temperature monitoring technology to maintain the wellbeing of employees, visitors and customers.

We are using no touch thermometers and thermal imaging technology to help with the detection of potential COVID-19 cases, via point of entry temperature detection for all individuals. This helps to detect potential risks, so they can be dealt with before the individual enters the building and potentially spreads an illness.

Scanning everyone’s temperature helps to provide peace of mind to the workforce that enhanced safeguards are being employed to reduce the risk of virus transmission.

It also help to reduce the possibility of the building having to be closed, with accompanying business downtime and loss of revenue.

As government advice and guidance increase, we will be looking to increase the support that we can provide.

Please call us today on 0333 344 3990 if we can help you.

UKCMA Membership for ExcluSec

The ExcluSec Group – which offers security, facilities and training services – has its head office in Bolton and sister bases in Manchester and Warrington.

Membership under the UKCMA cements ExcluSec’s meteoric rise in this vital industry sector.

The core aim of both the company and the UKCMA is to maintain and increase the standard of protection, security and care provided to crowds at all events throughout the UK. The company is also committed to raising the standard of security offered to visitors and staff at sensitive or complex locations.

Michelle Bancroft, Quality & Compliance Director at The ExclusSec Group, explained: “There is increased pressure on event organisers, venues and companies to offer extremely high levels of crowd management. Contemporary risks ensure that there is no room for complacency.

“This places a greater demand on companies like ExclusSec to stay ‘one step ahead’. Every individual member of our event security and crowd management teams has to be trained and ready to face any situation. Our performance must always be 100% professional.

“This made it a logical step for us to apply to become members of the UKCMA. Not least as it gives us a stronger voice in the events industry.”

Michelle added: “Part of taking our role and responsibilities seriously is to be at the forefront of developments in our sector.

“ExcluSec wants crowd management to continuously improve to tackle modern risks and challenges. We are committed to that internally, but membership under the UKCMA puts us in a position to influence these priorities on a national platform too.”

The UKCMA is the trade association representing the most advanced and professional companies in the crowd management industry. It is the voice of tens of thousands of security professionals who work in the UK’s massive events sector. The UKCMA also champions stringent training and disseminates best practice.

Michelle concluded: “Membership of the UKCMA follows on from a very exciting period in the Group’s history. We have been nominated for a whole raft of awards, including the prestigious Festival Supplier Awards.

“Our main impetus is the knowledge that groups of people in our care are kept safe, and have a positive experience when they visit events and sites. However, recognition on a national scale is certainly a great way to end a highly formative year for ExcluSec!”

North West security firm aiming for national award hat-trick

Fast expanding security, facilities and training services provider, The ExcluSec Group, is hoping to scoop a trio of awards in next month’s prestigious ‘Security and Fire Excellence Awards 2019’.

The organisation – which has offices in Bolton, Manchester and Warrington – has been nominated for top spot in the awards for: ACS Champion of the Year; Event Security Team of the Year; and Security Guarding Company of the Year (Under £25m Turnover).

Michelle Bancroft – Group Quality & Compliance Director at The ExcluSec Group – said:

“We are delighted to be shortlisted for these awards, as they recognise the high standards our team works towards year round, and across all our security contracts.

“Ultimately though, the recognition we most value is the sense of a ‘job well done’ for all our security, facilities and training projects, resulting in positive client feedback. Client loyalty, and trust in our event security services for major national projects, are undoubtedly our greatest accolade.

“Not many companies can report company growth of 22,000% across eight years, and a client retention rate of 98%. Those are the important measures we use to keep our services on track.”

Michelle concluded: “The company is also a proud member of the Security Industry Authority (SIA) approved contractor scheme, which inspects and regulates companies with the Private Security Industry Act 2001. It is maintaining these high quality standards every day – an coupled with the fierce commitment of our staff – this is the bedrock of The ExcluSec Group success to date.“

The ExcluSec Group will find out if it has ‘secured’ the awards at a ceremony at the London Hilton on Wednesday 20 November 2019, which annually attracts around 1,000 industry representatives.

The hat trick of award nominations are particularly exciting for a privately owned security company which is relatively new in this sector. The ExcluSec Group was founded in 2010, by directors James Bancroft and Michelle Khan.

Since then, The ExcluSec Group has become known from providing highly professional and reliable soft services – accredited by industry bodies – for private individuals, charities and business organisations throughout the UK. Its security, facilities and training arms are all run from a control room that is operated around the clock, every day of the year.

This SIA Approved Contractor, who is also NSI Guarding Gold and Investors in People Gold accredited – is currently recruiting more staff, to keep pace with growing demand for its services.

ExcluSec Wins Two Awards at the Bolton Business Awards

Security specialists, The ExcluSec Group, are celebrating today, after scooping two major prizes at the Bolton Business Awards 2019. The company took home the Innovation Award and, for the second year running, the Employer of the Year Award, recognising their unique approach to business and the investment they have made in their staff.

The annual Bolton Business Awards are designed to showcase the very best companies in the North West, allowing local firms to come together, network and celebrate the great achievements of Bolton-based businesses. The ExcluSec Group has a track record for winning big at the event, and their performance at the 2019 ceremony stands testament to the fact that the company likes to do things differently.

Speaking after the awards ceremony, The ExcluSec Group managing director, James Bancroft, said: “We are immensely proud of our achievements tonight and of our fantastic team who have made this possible. We believe that our people are our greatest asset, which is why we invest so heavily in staff welfare and well-being. We invest heavily in ongoing training, which gives people new skills and helps open the doors to career progression.

“Being named Employer of the Year for a second consecutive year is fantastic, and it goes to show that the way we treat our employees makes all the difference. The award for Innovation is also great news for the company. We’re constantly looking for new and creative ways to improve the services we provide, including looking to new technologies. This award proves that our efforts are paying off.”

The ExcluSec Group faced tough competition for both awards, fending off other companies with strong winning potential. The Employer of the Year Award and the Innovation Award are among the most highly-coveted at this prestigious event, with nominees keen to prove they look after their staff and are breaking new ground when it comes to improving their goods or services.

The ExcluSec Group is based in Bolton and provides soft services to businesses both in the town and the wider North West. In addition to their manned guarding service, they also provide event security, mobile patrols, vacant property security and security dog handlers. The company has SIA Approved Contractor Status and is positioned within the top 2% of SIA companies within the United Kingdom.

Spotlight falls on security firm that usually blends in!

A North West company that prides itself on providing discrete and unobtrusive security and cleaning services, is to step firmly in the limelight!

Privately owned The ExcluSec Group (which has offices in Bolton, Manchester and Warrington) is happy to be noticed on this occasion, as it has been shortlisted for four different categories in the Bolton Business Awards 2019.

The company – which won Business of the Year and Employer of the Year in 2018 – is up for Employer of the Year, Innovation, Customer Excellence and Businessperson of the Year.

The ExcluSec Group Quality & Compliance Director Michelle Bancroft said: “The ExcluSec team works hard to blend in when we’re engaged on site or at events. Discretion is important in providing our services that get the job done with the minimum of disruption.

“Yet here we are in the spotlight!

“It’s a great honour to be shortlisted for these awards, and testimony to the dedication and hard work of our staff, and the continuing loyalty of our clients.

“If I had to choose the most exciting nomination, it would be the prospect of being Employer of the Year for the second year running. Our staff matter to us, and they are the key to our reliability and superb customer service. Further acknowledgement that we treat them well would be huge!”

ExcluSec works with organisations throughout the UK to provide security and guarding within company buildings but also to keep staff and visitors safe at events.

The company – which rebranded itself in 2018 – also includes PAT testing within its services.

ExcluSec is also happy to pass on its expert insights in other ways, to help to keep clients safer.

Michelle Bancroft explained: “As we invest so heavily in up to date skills within our own team, ExcluSec is keen to pass those on to our clients, with our increasingly popular training services. We offer security, First Aid and licensing courses, to help companies to operate smooth and successful events or to manage security within their buildings.”

She added: “Sadly, security is now a massive issue for companies in the North West, but of course throughout the UK too.

“There is a great deal of expensive equipment on the market to use to detect, deter and delay intruders, and combat terrorist activities. However, sometimes the linchpin of keeping staff and visitors safe is having a team with the right level of alertness, awareness and ability.

“We can supply professional security staff to organisations of all sizes, or upskill your own personnel.”

Michelle concluded: “ Awards are wonderful, but the true honour we receive is the growing number of UK organisations who trust us to keep them safe and keep their premises clean!”

The ExcluSec Group shortlisted in two categories in 2019 UK Heart Safe Awards

Security, facilities and training services provider the ExcluSec Group has been shortlisted for two awards in this year’s UK Heart Safe Awards, in both the Large Business and Professional Services categories.

The winners will be announced in early October at an elegant black-tie occasion at a Manchester hotel hosted by the Hand on Heart charity, which is committed to preventing the deaths of young people across the UK from sudden cardiac arrest. (Currently around a dozen youngsters lose their lives in this way each week.)

The company’s Group Quality and Compliance Director Michelle Bancroft said: “We won the Professional Services Award in 2018, and so are eager to retain the title for 2019 while adding to the collection by winning another category! We’re thrilled to have been shortlisted again this year.”

The scheme celebrates organisations and individuals who have helped create Heart Safe environments. That means life-saving equipment such as a defibrillator are always on hand and, crucially, that staff have the training to use it in the event of a sudden cardiac arrest.

“We make sure our staff have this vital training so they’re able to provide immediate support,” added Bancroft. “And we’re always delighted to champion the invaluable work of this charity.”

ExcluSec is one of seven finalists in the Large Business category, and one of four in the Professional Services category.

Founded in 2010, The ExcluSec Group Ltd (formerly Exclusive Security Solutions Ltd) has a base in Bolton but works across the North West.

The company is also NSI Guarding Gold accredited as well as being an SIA-approved contractor (which puts it in the leading 2% of businesses of its kind).

At the same time, ExcluSec is an accredited Investors in People Gold organisation and has SafeContractor accreditation.

ExcluSec provides its highly customised security services to individuals, charitable bodies and businesses across the North West, as well as all over the whole of the UK.
